Navigation works like Figma:
| Gesture | Action |
|---|---|
| Scroll wheel, or two-finger scroll on a trackpad | Pan up and down (any direction on a trackpad) |
| Shift + scroll wheel | Pan left and right |
| Ctrl + scroll wheel, or pinch on a trackpad | Zoom in or out around the cursor |
| Hold Space and drag | Pan (the hand cursor shows while Space is held) |
| Middle-button drag | Pan |
| Arrow keys | Pan (Options can make them move the drawing instead) |
| Ctrl+R | View all: fit every visible shape on screen, and the tracing images while they are shown |
| Ctrl + + / Ctrl + − | Zoom in / out |
Grid and rulers
- G (View ▸ Grid) shows or hides the dotted grid. The dot spacing follows the zoom: zoom in and the dots get closer. The scale is written at the top right of the canvas (for example "5 mm").
- The two grey lines through the grid are the X and Y axes (x = 0 and y = 0).
- View ▸ Rulers shows or hides the rulers. The cursor position and the selection are marked on them.
- Click a ruler (or the unit box where they meet) to hide the rulers. While they are hidden, the unit box stays in the canvas's top-left corner: click it to show them again.

The measuring ruler (hold S)
Hold S to measure. The ruler starts where the pointer is when you press S and follows the pointer until you let go; both ends snap to the drawing's points (ends, crossings, midpoints and so on, but not the grid dots). Hold Shift as well to keep it level or plumb. Beside the pointer it reads:
- Distance=: the straight distance between the two ends.
- Circumference=: the length along the joined lines, curves, arcs and circles between them, when both ends are on shapes of the same line type (the path measured is highlighted).
- Total Len=: the total length of the selected shapes, when something is selected.
The ruler works in every tool, never changes the drawing and is never printed. It doesn't start while you are typing in a field.
